I was a business owner for over 25 years. I did everything from sweeping the floor in the early stages, to managing an executive team that ran a company with over 175 employees. I continually re-educated myself in my professions from the day I left college.
In addition to being an Exit Strategist, I am a licensed business broker with experience working with owners with a variety of business issues. Because brokers work with owners at the end of their business career, or during a transition, I continually meet owners that have done little or no exit planning. As a result of bad planning, many owners have been left with a less than desirable sale, or nothing left to sell. Over 60% of the businesses for sale, don’t sell…ever; that is a staggering statement.
